Congresswoman Doris Matsui To Hold Public Forum On Health Care
Local Event Will Provide Additional Opportunities for Constituents to Ask Questions, Share Thoughts About Health Insurance Reform Legislation SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-Sacramento) announced she will hold a public forum this Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 11:00am to hear from and talk with her constituents about health insurance reform efforts in Congress. The forum will be held at Sutter Middle School in the school’s multi-purpose room. “As Congress moves forward in crafting much-needed health insurance reform, it is important for me to continue to hear from my constituents,” said Representative Matsui. “For too many years, health insurance costs have grown faster than wages, and the number of Sacramentans without health insurance continues to climb. Saturday’s forum will allow me to hear more from my constituents and answer their questions on this important issue for our community.” Over the last six months, Congresswoman Matsui has met, visited with, and talked to thousands of constituents, senior citizens, doctors, nurses, and health care professionals about health insurance reform legislation. She also hosted two telephone town halls over the last month, with over 20,000 Sacramentans participating. This conversation will continue at Saturday’s forum, enabling the Sacramento community to share with Rep. Matsui their thoughts and opinions on health insurance reform. Sutter Middle School is located at 3150 I Street, at the corner of I Street and Alhambra Boulevard. Parking will be available on site. Sutter Middle School is also assessable by RT bus routes 30 and 34. WHO:Congresswoman Doris O.
