Rep. Matsui Expresses Condolences to Unit and Families of Coast Guard Members

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui (CA-05) issued the following statement following the announcement that a U.S. Coast Guard C-130 from Air Station Sacramento collided with a U.S. Marine attack helicopter off the coast of Southern California:

“My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to the unit and families of the victims involved in this recent airborne accident.  The men and women of our armed services put themselves in harm’s way every single day, and their courage in doing so is often overlooked.  People in Sacramento and across our country owe all of our country’s service members a debt of gratitude; this recent tragedy only underscores how we should honor and remember their willingness to sacrifice all in the name of keeping our country safe.”
